Now that you understand what a subdomain is, you can add non-forwarded subdomains that point to IP addresses. If you want to forward a subdomain, see Manually forward or mask your domain or subdomain.

Looks like you’re not logged in. If you log in above (under Text Icon), we can save you a couple of steps.

  1. Go to the DNS Management page.
  2. At the bottom of the Records list, click Add and select A from the Type drop-down menu.
  3. Complete the other fields:
    • Host – Enter the subdomain you want to use.

       Note: The subdomain can include a period (.) but not as the first or last character. Consecutive periods (…) are not allowed. A subdomain cannot exceed 25 characters.

    • Points to – Enter the IP address you want the subdomain to point to.
    • TTL – Select how long the server should cache the information.
  4. Click Save.

  1. Log in to your My Products page.
  2. If you aren’t automatically directed there, make sure to select the My Products tab.
  3. Next to the domain you want to use, click Manage.
  4. On the DNS Management page, at the bottom of the Records list, click Add and select A from the Type drop-down menu.
  5. Complete the other fields:
    • Host – Enter the subdomain you want to use.

    • Points to – Enter the IP address you want the subdomain to point to.

  6. Click Save.

 Note: DNS can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
